ONE NATION visit Plight of the Child International
ONE NATION visited Plight of the Child International(POCI) on 20th March,2012 . ONE NATION is a UK based NGO focused on helping the underprivileged in developing countries. They decided to visit POCI because of their acknowledgement of POCI's good work. According to the director of ONE NATION, Darren Watson, the visit is to encourage POCI for the good work and to begin a lasting partnership with the organisation. A donation of food stuff and some books for the library was made to POCI. The team also provided a helping hands in the construction of the library at Akyem Ofoase. The directors and members of POCI extends their profound gratitude to the ONE NATION team for their visit and donation.
Plight of the Child International Donates a laptop computer to School
On Tuesday, 10th January,2012, Plight of the Child International donated a laptop computer to Bontodiase Methodist School. The laptop was donated to assist in the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT). The school has no computers, it teaches ICT. This makes the teaching and learning of ICT very difficult since there is no opportunity for practical learning. Gurbe, Scheenstra, a volunteer of Plight of the Child International who taught ICT and Mathematics in the school for three months saw this problem and donated this laptop to the school to help with the teaching and learning of the subject.
Plight of the Child International Donates to School Children in Akyemansa district

On Monday, 28th November,2011, Plight of the Child International donated study materials worth one thousand three hundred Ghana cedis to over four hundred school children in Akyem Ofoase and Bontodiase in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The materials included school bags,text books, exercise books, chalk, pens, pencils,mathematical sets, drinking buckets,school uniforms,football,crayon and erasers. According to the executive director of the NGO, Bill G.O.Akomea, the purpose of the donation was to help improve the academic performance of the school children. The donation targeted needy but brilliant students even though almost every pupil of the selected school received a present. He continued that it is the aim of the NGO to assist school children in the district in their education and to help improve the quality of education in the district.

Plight of the Child International begins HIV/AIDS education program on Obuoba 91.7 FM
Plight of the Child International, yesterday, 15.09.2011 began an HIV/AIDS education program on Obuoba 91.7 FM. The program aims at educating the general public on HIV/AIDS. This is one of the strategies to achieve the objectives of the LOVE LIFE project, which is to reduce orphans as a result of HIV/AIDS.
Obuoba FM is a radio station based in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It covers about eight (8) of the ten (10) regions in Ghana including the Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra and some parts of the Northern regions.
WATCH OUT FOR THE LAUNCHING OF OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAME
We shall be soon launching a mentorship program. It is a program that seeks give children in rural areas hope by helping them choose a mentor and giving them a role model. It shall also give people at home and abroad the opportunity to adopt a child from a rural community and mentor him or her.
